Three Cords?

So… what’s with the “Three Cords” name, anyway?

It comes from  Ecclesiastes 4:12 ~ “Two people can resist an attack that would defeat one person alone. A rope made of three cords is hard to break.” (GNB)

The first “cord” is the one who is humble enough to ask for help… for perspective…for counsel.  They have a calling, a purpose… maybe even a plan.  However, the opposition and the challenges sometimes discourage and almost defeat.

The second “cord” is the willing and experienced helper ~ the personal life-coach from ThreeCords Consulting and Coaching.  He’s a great listener, active and reflective and responsive.  His questions clarify and probe.  His counsel is caring, insightful and to the point.

The third “cord” is the true “helper” ~ the Holy Spirit ~ illuminating the circumstances and applying the appropriate portions of God’s Word.  Without Him, the other two would merely be the blind-leading-the-blind.

It’s the Three Cords, together, that result in clarity and progress and success.
